Building a duplex or acreage home

Duplexes

A duplex places two homes on one block. Owners build them to live in one side and rent out the other, to keep extended family close by, or as an investment. Our duplex designs feature planned layouts that offer privacy, flexibility and comfort, with quality finishes, spacious living areas and private outdoor spaces for each home.

In NSW, a duplex (dual occupancy) is approved either as complying development or through a development application to council, depending on your block's zoning, size and shape. Checking this early helps shape the design. Read more on our duplex builder St George page.

Acreage homes

Building on a larger block gives you room for outdoor living, entertaining and recreation. Acreage sites can also bring extra things to plan for, such as site access, connection to services and, where land is bushfire prone, bushfire construction requirements. We work through these with you as part of the design and approvals.
