We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy applies to stanthonybuildinggroup.com.au and to enquiries you make by phone, email or online.

What personal information we collect

We only collect the personal information we need to respond to you and to provide our building and renovation services. This may include:

  • Contact form enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, the type of project you are asking about (subject) and your message.
  • Phone, email and social media enquiries: your name, contact details and anything you choose to tell us about your project.
  • If you engage us: information we need to quote and carry out the work, such as the property address, project details, and records of our communication with you.
  • Website usage information: information collected automatically when you visit our website, such as pages viewed, the device and browser you use, your approximate location, the website that referred you and your IP address. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

You can contact us without giving your name, but we may not be able to provide a quote or our services if you choose to remain anonymous.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information directly from you when you fill in our contact form, call or email us, message us on social media, or meet with us about a project. We also collect some information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website.

Why we collect and use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation or quote;
  • provide our services, manage your project and communicate with you about it;
  • keep business records and meet our legal obligations;
  • understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it; and
  • protect our website from spam, misuse and security threats.

We will not use your personal information for any other purpose unless you have consented or we are permitted or required to by law.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored by your browser.

  • Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. It uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to collect information such as pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, and approximate location. Google processes this information on our behalf. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Security cookies: our website is protected by Cloudflare, which may set cookies (such as __cf_bm and cf_clearance) to tell genuine visitors apart from automated traffic. Our website also checks the country your IP address comes from to block unwanted traffic. These are needed for the website to work securely.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block security cookies, parts of the website may not work properly.

Who we disclose personal information to

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it where it is needed for the purposes above, including with:

  • service providers who help us run our business and website, such as our website hosting, email delivery, website security (Cloudflare) and analytics (Google) providers;
  • our website and marketing agency, which maintains our website and online marketing;
  • subcontractors, suppliers, certifiers and consultants who need your details to help deliver your project;
  • our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
  • government bodies or others where we are required or authorised by law.

Some of these providers, including Google and Cloudflare, may store or process information outside Australia, for example in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the APPs.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. When we no longer need personal information for any purpose allowed by law, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your personal information

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on your request. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing, unless it would be unreasonable to do so.
